3 tips to make your ferret's living environment more comfortable
Your pet ferret needs more than just good quality food
and a lot of love – he also needs a good living environment. The living environment you provide can have a huge impact on your ferret's overall health and happiness, so keep your precious pet in good health by following these ferret care tips.
1. Provide ample room
Obviously, you will want a cage that is secure so your ferret doesn't escape, but the size of the cage is also important. When ferrets aren't sleeping, they have a lot of energy and will want to play and explore. Don't keep them cooped up in a tiny cage. Give your pet plenty of room to move around and exercise.
2. Keep a cool living environment
Ferrets tend to get overheated very easily, which is why you want to set up your ferret's living environment in a cool area. Anywhere from 65-68 F is typically the ideal temperature for ferrets to live comfortably and not get a heat stroke.
3. Furnish cage with daily necessities
Your ferret should have easy access to the daily necessities that keep him happy and sustained. These items include bedding, water bowl, food bowl, litter box and toys. Toys may not seem like a “daily necessity,” but they will keep your ferret from becoming bored and help encourage exercise.
You want your ferret to be as happy and healthy as possible, so create a living environment that he will feel comfortable living in every day.
