Fresh and Raw Diets

Q: When you say fresh raw food, what exactly do you mean and what kind?

A: First, to speak generally, for greatest health, Dr. Wysong recommends following the Wysong Optimal Health Program™, which includes Wysong cat and dog supplements, rotating through the various Wysong diets (dry, canned and Wysong TNT™ raw cat and dog foods), and whole fresh foods to provide healthy variety. Fresh grocery store raw meats (rinse well, clean with Wysong Citrox™, and supplement with Call of the Wild™) can be fed with great benefit.

Feed organ meats, such as liver, kidney, heart and poultry giblets in combination with muscle meats in a ratio of approximately one-part organs to five parts meat. Cooked meats and table scraps may be fed. Very small amounts of leftover table scraps such as cereals, sandwiches, soups, potatoes, rice, etc. can be fed occasionally. Grate very finely, dice or puree any fruit, vegetable or nut that you yourself eat. Soak raw nuts overnight and poor off the dark colored tannin water. This increases their digestibility. Feed the above foods in various combinations or singularly. Variety is an important key to good nutrition. Keep in mind that every nutrient is not necessary at every meal in spite of pet foods companies often emphasizing the need to feed a "100% Complete and Balanced" food at every meal.
