Safety of Food

Question:
(1) You said your chickens were free ranged and organic, "when available". My first question is what percent of the time are such chickens available?

(2) My second question is, do you have a wet cat food for a cat with struvite crystals? If not, can water be added to your dry struvite formulation? There are web sites that strongly recommend against putting water on dry cat food, because lingering bacteria on dry food that can multiply rapidly with added moisture. What do your folks think?

Answer:
Please see this link about meat ingredients: http://www.wysong.net/pet-health-and-nutrition/meats.php. We cannot state percentages as that changes with the season, market, and a host of other variables.

We recommend the Au Jus™ canned diets for cats prone to urinary problems (and all cats actually). Also consider rotating with Uretic™, Epigen™, Archetype™ and Vitality™, as well as fresh foods from home.

You can add water to the dry food if you wish. Processing destroys bacteria but bacteria can grow on any food, dry or wet. Canned food (or dry food with water added) should not be unrefrigerated for more than two hours. If your pet does not finish what you have set out in a couple hours, then discard the leftovers.
