Pet Foods for Both Canine and Feline

Q: How can Archetype™ be for both dogs and cats?

A: All Wysong Diets can be fed to both species. Some are expressly labeled Canine/Feline, including our entire line of TNT™ raw cat and dog foods, Anergen™, Vegan™ (designed to be supplemented with fresh meat or the Au Jus™ Canned Diets), the canned Gourmet Diets™, Stew Diets™, and the Au Jus Canned Diets™ (designed to be a supplement to the dry diets, or when fed alone, supplemented with Call of the Wild™).

Wysong Diets are designed to mimic the animal's natural feeding patterns - what they are genetically adapted to. In the wild, cats and dogs fundamentally have a similar carnivorous (meat-based) diet.

Labeling cat and dog foods differently is largely a consumer convenience and a marketing strategy. This labeling tactic leads consumers to presume that there are fundamental and meaningful differences between dog and cat foods, but this is often not the case. If pet foods are designed properly they should be appropriate for any carnivore.

The same rationale can be applied to our cat and dog supplements, most of which are cross-species (equally suitable for cats and dogs).
