Dear Wysong Critic,

Thank you for your letter. It is our intent to educate and help people achieve health, not affront. In some cases, it seems to us that the only way to help people see distinctions and sort through marketing is by directly addressing issues and misleading information.

Since you are a "concerned animal lover" it will interest you to understand why we are critical of pet food producers. Put yourself in the position of discovering that there was a toxin embedded in all the liners in breakfast cereals. Although this toxin did no apparent immediate harm, over time you knew it caused a host of chronic degenerative conditions such as cancer, heart disease, arthritis, obesity, dental disease and so forth. But the manufacturers either did not understand this or did not care. Instead they talked about how healthy their products were because they contained fiber, were low in calories, had lots of vitamins or didn't contain preservatives, sugar, saturated fat and so on. What would you do? Would you be silent or let the public know they were being misled and that the real problem was the liner?

There is an identical situation in the pet food industry. Feeding so-called "100% complete" heat processed pet foods exclusively is the 'toxic liner' that is maiming pets with degenerative diseases and killing them. Producers either do not know or do not care. Instead they mislead the public into thinking the real issue is whether a product has corn, wheat, soy, preservatives or some special magic ingredient. The problem for us at Wysong is that we do understand and do care and cannot sit by silently while consumers are misled and pets by the millions are marched to their doom.

So, if our rhetoric seems strong it is because we are "concerned animal lovers" as well, have become fully informed, and feel compelled to do something about it.

Your web page left a bad taste in my mouth.... I am currently making a Nutrition guide book with all dog foods available. I am adding all ingredients for every bag or can of food so people can see the difference between foods..

I find it disgusting that you pick apart the top food makers

By what standards are these the "top?" Do they even own their own manufacturing facilities? Do they have medical/nutritional experts at the helm (not just name-dropped in marketing materials)? Do they expose the myth of "100% complete" diets? Do they show competency and truthfullness? Do they produce true non-thermally processed all meat foods matching pets' archetypal genetic expectation? If the answer is no to any of the above they cannot be considered "top" from a health or nutrition standpoint.

and say that everything that they have is wrong and and untrue.

Not everything, but some things for sure. And, most importantly, the 'toxic liner' issue mentioned above. Also, honesty in what a producer says reflects underlying principles and competency.

I particularly found the comments about (.....one of the brands Wysong critiques) dog foods rude.

You really need to take the section out about the pet food companies products.. Not only is it rude but talk about bad business ethics to be bashing other companies.

Please state specifically what we have said that is untrue. Truth is the issue since health is at stake. If there is a fire in a shopping mall should one be quiet so businesses are not disrupted?

You do your clients and their pets a disservice by not pointing them to the important Wysong information. People buying our products is only important insofar as helping them become better informed.

Oh and exactly where do you find this unique hybrid, high-lysine hypoallergenic corn? Have looked for information on it but have yet to find an answer on this one. "Dr. Wysong's research has shown that corn is not the "cause of allergy,"... Nice wording... No corn is not the Cause of allergy but acctually the cause of food Intolerance. An Allergy is a severe reaction to
the food item where food intolerance shows itself in many other ways like itchy skin, watery eyes, and much more.. I would check this website out to further your knowledge in this area. Since Dr. Wysong seems to know everything he may want to learn alittle more... http://www.ehealthmd.com.

We are aware of the information cited and have been for 25 years. Educational resourcing is a large part of our activity as evidenced by the Directory of Alternative Resources . Any ingredient can potentially cause the reactions you cite. Thousands of pets "allergic" or "sensitive" to corn do wonderfully on Wysong products. How is that empirical evidence denied?

We believe we have done so and continue to try to improve. Some of our products are so expensive to produce we make no profit from their sale--e.g. (Archetype, Dream Treats).

If it is poeple will know that and word will spred but since it is not and you seem to have to convince your customers by telling lies and degrading your competitors

Please identify one "lie" in Wysong materials. The information you allude to represents an infinitesimal fraction of the educational material we produce. Which of the other manufacturers you promote has Doctor and PhD managers at the helm? Which has a founder that has produced a health newsletter for the past fifteen years or written 11 health related books? Which ones even own their own manufacturing plant? Again, see the "Don't Be Fooled Section".

then you really are going to have to try alitte harder or hope you meet gullible poeple that believe everything they read.

Education is the opposite of gullibility. Compare our site to any other in existence in terms of educational and salutary information.

You obviously understand that raw is the best way to go then why don't you come out with a book that teaches people the way to make thier own raw meat diets

That is not true. See above materials and the Optimal Health Program .

As for myself I have been making my own raw food meals for my animals for years now and know it is the best for my pets since I know what I buy.

You are obviously a thinking person. Good for you and we encourage you to do what you are doing and help others do the same.

So why don't you instead of making a pet food you know is not good for animals spend your money and time helping poeple learn how to make these meals for their pets.
